my most anticipated book releases for the last half of 2020!!

I don’t actually keep up with new releases most of the time just because I feel overwhelmed by all the new books being released…and my TBR is already suffering and I don’t want it to go over 200 books. However, there a few books that I am REALLY excited to release. Most of these are fantasy books…

ME WITH ALL THESE GORGEOUS COVERS:

The Once and Future Witches by Alex E. Harrow // I heard witches and feminist … and dropped everything to add this to my TBR. (ignore how I requested an ARC of this and heard nothing back. *crying emojis*)

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E Schwab // Reasons I’m excited about this 1) Its V.E Scwhab 2) read the synopsis and tell me it doesn’t sound like a recipe for EXCELLENCE. in a moment of desperation, a young woman makes a Faustian bargain to live forever and is cursed to be forgotten by everyone she meets but everything changes when, after nearly 300 years, Addie stumbles across a young man in a hidden bookstore and he remembers her name. 3) I’ve heard nothing but GLOWING reviews for this book! 

A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik// what is it with all these books with AMAZING premises coming out? The title of this one gives it away: A Deadly Education is set at Scholomance, a school for the magically gifted where failure means certain death (for real) — until one girl, El, begins to unlock its many secrets. Like?? That sounds like my DREAM BOOK and even though I didn’t enjoy Uprooted, I think I will adore this one!

Blood & Honey (Serpent & Dove) by Shelby Mahurin – My feelings towards the first book: this is the worst book I have ever read…but…the romance 😍. I’m curious to see how the author is going to keep me invested when I do not care for the plot and the romance seems well-concluded to me…? But we’ll see. 

How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories (The Folk of the Air, #3.5) by Holly Black // uhm If I didn’t put this one on the list…am I still Ilsa?? No, is the answer. I’m so excited for the release of this novella which is going to have GORGEOUS art and its going to be entirely from Cardan’s POV!! I can’t believe i have to wait until NOVEMBER for this book. IM LOSING MY MIND.

Where Dreams Descend by Janella Angeles // Do I know what this book is about? Not really. All I know is gorgeous cover, beautiful prose, magicians, and circus. Like what else do I need to hear? I am sold. Also, Rain talked about this on her blog and that made me even more excited! (i got declined for this on Netgalley…LOOK AWAY)

These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong // The cover for this is GORGEOUS. This has been pitched as asian-inspired Romeo and Juliet retelling…and like, I just need it in my hands…right now. 

The Bone Shard Daughter by Andrea Stewart // This is an f/f asian-inspired adult fantasy novel…and I’m really hoping Netgalley does not decline my request for this because IT LOOKS LIKE EVERYTHING I’VE EVER WANTED.

So uhm…I tend to not be that excited for contemporary books coming out just because I’m not a HUGE contemporary lover and mostly read them after they are released and I’ve heard good things about them! Nevertheless, here is one that made my list

Dating Makes Perfect by Pintip Dunn // I’m mostly excited for this because…of May BUT!! This sounds like an Asian retelling of Taming of The Shrew (which I went to see at a theatre! And it was (mostly) good. I also love the 10 Things I Hate About You movie so…) And like, not to be repetitive, but the cover is just…WOW.
